I was preparing a Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra concert for broadcast the other day, and it struck me that the two works on the program had wildly differing sound wave patterns, even though they were recorded at the same levels. This was interesting!

I just read an article commemorating George Eastman's passing 80 years ago today. When visitng the George Eastman House recently, I noticed that the program from his memorial service was on display (near his laconic and poignant suicide note). Eastman's memorial service included music by Beethoven, Locatelli, Wagner, and Howard Hanson.
