Hear the Chicago Symphony Orchestra perform Arnold Schoenberg's landmark 1912 melodrama Pierrot Lunaire. Based on 12 French poems of the same name, this piece features a singer half-singing, half-speaking in a technique called Sprechstimme. You can hear this work on the November 5th broadcast.
Fridays at 8:00 p.m.
This month we hear selections from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, Stravinsky's Petruska, Mahler's Symphony No. 3, and Rachmaninoff's "Isle of the Dead," inspired by a painting he saw in Paris.  A great line up of programs on SymphonyCast, Fridays at 8:00 p.m.

This month with the New York Philharmonic, we start off with some jazz with Wynton Marsalis playing Duke Ellington's A Tone Parallel to Harlem and Selections from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess (12/6).

In this month, hear Pittsford, NY Baritone Aaron Bigeleisen sing the music of Schubert and Christopher O-Riley interview young musicians at The Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.
Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m.
This month the San Fransisco Symphony presents Ives' Three Places in New England, which features recognizable hymns reimagined in 20th century harmony. Gil Shaham can be heard on violin.
