WXXI News and the Innovation Trail are spearheading a new project called “Understanding the Affordable Care Act.” This on-going news series will help answer the community’s questions about Obamacare. If you have questions, concerns, or have had trouble enrolling in health insurance, I invite you to take our online survey by clicking here. Your questions will help decide the topics we cover in our on-going coverage of the Affordable Care Act.
I also encourage you to share this survey with your friends and family. We’re looking to get as much feedback as possible so that we are able provide relevant, valuable information to our community about ACA. This project is supported in part by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.

Throughout the year, public media will provide you with programming that makes a difference in your life. In fact, we have hit the ground running with events and programming for the new decade!
As I look back on 2009, I am grateful for another productive and eventful year, where WXXI continued to make a positive difference in so many lives in the Greater Rochester area.
WXXI’s new “Go Public” campaign received a boost when Rochester “went public” by voting WRUR/WXXI as favorite radio station in City Newspaper’s “Best of Rochester 2009” Awards! If you voted for us, thank you (and thanks to our friends at City, too)! We were also pleased that our own Scott Regan, host of “Open Tunings” on WRUR 88.5, received a “Critics’ Picks” for “Best Reason to be Late for Work.” Also, WXXI Honorary Trustee Betty Strasenb
I hope you enjoyed Ken Burns’s latest series, The National Parks: America’s Best Idea on WXXI. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been stopped over the past few weeks by people who watched the series and loved it.
