Friday news round-up

Sarah Palin played the flute in 1984Sarah Palin played the flute in 1984 It’s all Sarah Palin and Joe Biden at the office. No matter what anyone thought of Pain’s debating style, WXXI classical hosts agree that she’s a middling flautist.

My friend Rob posted this fascinating video explaining the difference between liberals and conservatives. It’s about twenty minutes long.

There will be little political talk on WXXI-TV's Need to Know, tonight at 9:00 p.m. Host Julie Philip will instead focus on the economy with Mark Peterson, Interim President of Greater Rochester Enterprise. The show will include a preview of the stunning new Craighead-Saunders Organ at Christ Church, an instrument that some say will make Rochester, NY the best place in North America to perform music of J.S. Bach.

This coming Monday, I’ll have the privilege of interviewing RPO Music Director Christopher Seaman about the RPO’s upcoming new season.

I’ll be chatting with him about Shostakovich, Beethoven, the New World Symphony, Brahms, Mozart, Sibelius, Tippet, Lizst, and Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra.

Anything you’d like me to ask?
