Finding Your Roots

Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr. delves into the genealogy of
28 new guests in the third season of Finding Your Roots, premiering
Tuesday, January 5 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV.
Each story illuminates the
vast patchwork of ethnicity, race and experience that makes up the fabric of America. The third season Gates uncovers the ancestral trails from Maya Rudolph, Richard Branson, Soledad O’Brien, Bill Hader, Julianne Moore, Senator John McCain, Norman Lear, and more. 

In celebration of a whole new season of the PBS series, Finding Your Root, WXXI invites you to share a family story on WXXI’s Facebook page. Each week we’ll announce on WXXI’s Facebook page an episode theme and call for your stories.  Submit a two to three sentence story along with a photo and tag it with #FindingYourRoots. Top submissions will be shared on the Finding Your Roots Facebook page.
