Featuring faculty and students from the Eastman School of Music
Jazz at Birch Creek, taped at Birch Creek Music Performance Center in Egg Harbor, provides a front seat to an enjoyable evening of big band jazz performed by Birch Creek student bands and the Birch Creek Academy Jazz Orchestra. Airing Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. on WXXI-TV, the program also features faculty and students from the Eastman School of Music.
The centerâ€™s students and faculty present a collection of swinging tunes from the big band era. Birch Creek Music Performance Center is a summer music school for advanced young musicians from across the country. Students are taught by nationally known performers and educators during the day, and perform alongside them in concerts at night. Birch Creekâ€™s mission is to provide their students with significant performance experience in front of live audiences.
