One of the world's leading performing arts festivals, the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, airs Sundays at 2 p.m., beginning June 17 on Classical 91.5.
Beginning in 1981, Festival performances have been broadcast on national radio networks, including the WFMT Fine Arts Network, American Public Radio, Minnesota Public Radio, and National Public Radio (NPR). The Festival currently produces a series of 13, hour-long broadcasts distributed nationally by the WFMT Radio Network.
Each broadcast hour contains two or three works, most of which represent the core chamber music repertoire. The Festival remains dedicated to lesser known composers and compositions, and to commissioning new works.
Veteran WFMT announcer Kerry Frumkin hosts this dynamic radio series along with Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival artistic director, Marc Neikrug. Many of the performers provide additional commentary about the festival and the music they’ve played.
