Homophobic slurs and anti-gay hate speech are commonplace among many of the professional athletes who are role models for young people.  In the Life: Words Do Matter, airing Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 7 p.m. on WXXI World (DT21.2/cable 524), examines pervasive homophobia in the world of sports and speaks with professional athletes who are standing up to put an end to it.
