Join us for a one-of-a-kind exploration of wine and cheese in the Finger Lakes with certified sommelier Holly Howell.
WXXI and Valley Manor are pleased to host Between the Lakes Wine & Cheese Tour with Holly Howell, Democrat and Chronicle's wine columnist and certified sommelier, on Thursday, October 4, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Our first stop... Waterloo, NY to the Murando Cheese Company, where owner Tom Murray will explain how his cheese is made. Then we'll visit with Steve DiFrancesco, winemaker at Knapp Vineyards, who will share how wine is made. Next, we'll enjoy an elegant four-course food and wine pairing lunch prepared by chef John McNabb at Knapp Vineyard's Bistro.
Finally, we head to Sheldrake Point Winery for a seminar by Holly Howell (pictured) on the art of pairing wine and cheese.
We'll leave by motor coach from Valley Manor at 8:30 a.m. and return at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $85 per person and includes lunch. Seating is limited; reservations are required.
