Join WXXI and Valley Manor of a Seneca Trail Tasting Tour.
We are sorry to report that this event has been CANCELLED.
Valley Manor and WXXI are reprising last year’s very successful Finger Lakes Wine Trail Tour, but this year, we’re adding beer! Join us Monday, October 7th for our Hops and Grapes Tour. Starting at Valley Manor, we grab an on-the-go continental breakfast between 8 and 8:30 a.m. and board a motor coach bus with our tour guide, Holly Howell, Wine Columnist for the Democrat & Chronicle and Certified Sommelier through the Master Court of Sommeliers in England.
Our first stop—the “grapes” portion of the day—is a tour and tasting at Fox Run Vineyards on Seneca Lake. The original Civil War-era dairy barn was converted into a wine center and tasting room that maintains the original rustic character, while taking further advantage of the dramatic panoramic views of Seneca Lake. The impressive wine center also features a market and café where visitors can stock up on specialty items from the Empire State.
Around noon, we head to Glenora Winery, the first winery on Seneca Lake, widely known for its warm hospitality and magnificent lakeside setting. Here, we enjoy lunch in their Veraisons Restaurant with its focus on regional delicacies.
After lunch, we “hop” over to the Beer Trail! The perfect place to learn about beer, Naked Dove Brewery offers a tour of their microbrewery, tasting room and gift shop to explore beers made right in the Finger Lakes! At approximately 4 p.m., we return to Valley Manor.
Don’t miss out on this spectacular and tasty day in the Finger Lakes! The cost, including transportation, tours, tastings, lunch and gratuities is $85 per person.
