Sir Gilbert Levine

Sir Gilbert Levine leads a special concert celebrating the unifying message of Pope John Paul II.

The man known as the Pope’s Maestro, Sir Gilbert Levine, leads the combined forces of the Lyrics Opera Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Chorus in a special concert celebrating the uniquely unifying, multi-cultural message of Pope John Paul II.  This program celebrates the special relationship between the Jewish-American Maestro from Brooklyn and Pope John Paul, who bestowed upon Levine the highest pontifical knighthood accorded to a non-ecclesiastical musician since Mozart.  Out of Many—One airs Friday, December 6, 2013 at 12 p.m. on Classical 91.5.
