The World of Robert Schumann on Classical 91.5
An extraordinary documentary on the life and works of Robert Schumann.
This year marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of composer Robert Schumann. To celebrate, Classical 91.5 brings listeners a special series entitled The World of Robert Schumann, airing Wednesdays at 9 p.m. and again at 10 p.m., beginning June 2 on Classical 91.5/FM-HD91.5-1. Producer and host John Tibbetts has studied the life and music of Schumann since the early 1960s and over the last 20 years worked to produce an extraordinary documentary of his life and music. Tibbetts talks with biographers, psychiatrists, musicologists, critics and publishers, presenting dramatizations, interviews, commentary and hundreds of musical excerpts.
June 8, 2010 is Schumann's birth date, and in honor of the composer, Classical 91.5 will feature works by Robert Schumann, as well as some of the composers that Schumann championed as a critic.
